The Nursing and Science Building at Los Angeles Southwest College is a holistic Science and Tech resource geared to stimulate academic growth, positive inter-student interaction, and scientific exploration.
Housing the School of Nursing, as well as Life Sciences, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Geology programs, this 50,000 sf facility leverages 2-stories of flexible learning space to provide comfortable, cooperative areas suitable for a variety of work styles.
The project was originally designed for the School of Arts, and was approved by DSA. However, the project was placed on hold for several years and after that time, the need for the School of Arts was no longer in need, but a home for Nursing and Science was. Thinking creatively, we proposed a Tenant Improvement to the DSA permitted Building that would allow the Design-Builder to start construction on the Shell and Core, while the Tenant Improvements were processed through DSA.
