Adam is a licensed architect, who brings a unique perspective to his work shaped by his diverse background and experience. Following an initial career in biotechnology, Adam’s profound interest in architecture led him to a field where he could fully engage his analytical skills, innate creativity, and passion for sustainability. Today, Adam applies his talents to address a wide range of environmental challenges within the built environment, providing sustainable design solutions that evoke a sense of connection with nature.

Brett Tullis has been practicing architecture in San Diego since 1992 and is focused on creating collaborative, dynamic architectural solutions that exceeds the client’s goals of function, sustainability, value and schedule. Brett believes in an integrated team approach to design and construction which embraces the collaborative LEAN concepts to reduce waste and maximize productivity. When he is not manning the helm as a Principal Architect at SILLMAN, he can be found playing guitar and experimenting with craft cocktails.

Originally from Massachusetts, Bri made the move to San Diego in 2014 after graduating from college. With a background in administration, she has seamlessly transitioned into the role as Project Administrative Assistant, where her exceptional communication skills and meticulous approach to project management shine.

When not helping to keep our team on track, you'll likely find her cherishing quality time with her family and dog Pebbles, or passionately cheering on her beloved Boston Celtics!

Celina is all about making things happen. With a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, she has been an esteemed advocate of Sustainable Design in San Diego for almost 30 years.

As Project Manager at SILLMAN, Celina is both a team player and leader, sharing her dedication to Design Excellence to guide our firm in climate-forward designs that are in synergy with the natural environment, not against it.

Cheri has extensive administrative experience in the architectural and engineering industry. She is a passionate hockey fan, who can be found cheering for the Washington Capitals.

Christine Priess chose architecture for the opportunity to be creative. She is intrigued by the way buildings affect how we live, advocating for sustainable materials and holistic design in her structures.

Connor is a huge baseball fan and especially loves the Dodgers. He also has a passion for music and playing the drums. In his free time, he also enjoys cooking, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Drawing from his inherent zest for creation, Dakotah brings an enthusiastic energy to each of his projects as a Designer. Having served honorably in the Navy and experiencing a taste of architecture from around the world, Dakotah couples his firsthand experiences with his architectural education to develop designs that are innovative and feasible.

In his free time, you’ll find him continuing his creative journey whether he’s diving into woodworking, tinkering with automobiles, or seizing any opportunity to build. With plans to pursue an engineering degree, Dakotah aims to further his ability to transform his innovative ideas into reality.

Guillermo believes in the power of teamwork. From ancient structures of legend to modern marvels of innovation, he recognizes that individuals can reach outstanding success by working together. As Project Manager and SILLMAN Associate, Guillermo aims to usher in an era of greater unity and cohesion. By focusing on a standardized set of techniques for handling projects, Guillermo is here to leave a positive mark on our team, our designs, and the world. Heather brings over 20 years of experience in the architectural industry. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her amazing husband, and has a love (or obsession) for international travel.

Originally from Denmark, Helle has been in San Diego for over 25 years. When not working in the office, she keeps busy with volunteer work and bringing us treats from Solvang.

Jada is responsible for leading SILLMAN's Business Development department. A word nerd at heart, she enjoys crafting compelling narratives and showcasing SILLMAN's strengths as a Design-Build architectural firm. In her spare time, Jada enjoys playing cello and experimenting with whiskey cocktails. (Imson Award Winner)

As a recent graduate with experience in commercial retail projects, James is fascinated with sustainable and organic architecture. In his work, he seeks a balance between architectural impact and utilization of the built environment. When not studying to get his license, you can find him skateboarding around San Diego County, snowboarding in Big Bear, or relaxing at Ocean Beach.

Jeff supports the SILLMAN team as a Project Administrative Assistant, drawing on years of experience in administrative and billing roles that shaped his organized and people focused work style. He enjoys the collaborative nature of project work and brings a steady, team-oriented approach to daily operations.

Outside the office, Jeff is an avid international traveler who loves exploring cities and taking in the architectural character of the places he visits. When he is not planning his next trip, he can be found perfecting a very impressive martini.

Jessica is the smiling face that greets you as soon as you enter SILLMAN Offices. More than just a key member of the administrative team, Jessica is part of our company legacy. As Larry Sillman’s daughter she’s watched the company grow and evolve. When not interfacing with clients and consultants, she enjoys spending time with her son Luke. She also runs half marathons and is the resident trivia queen. Her ‘nerd’ knowledge is unparalleled.

Jessica’s passion for architecture can be traced back to her days in elementary school spent watching copious amounts of HGTV, playing the Sims, and rearranging her bedroom every two weeks. Now, as an Architect at SILLMAN, she continues to enhance our design decisions by always striving to make a positive impact in lives of project users.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys unwinding with her favorite video games and experiment with her newfound hobby of baking macarons.

Julio Medina, AIA, NCARB, is a Licensed Architect and Project Manager whose work extends across a broad scope of project types, including Multi-Family, K-12, Higher Education, Civic, and High-Profile Historic Renovations. He was honored as AIA San Diego’s 2024 Young Architect of the Year, recognizing his leadership and contributions to the architectural profession. During his time at SILLMAN, Julio has championed the firm’s vision for integrated design, leading teams of interdisciplinary experts to realize highly contextual and impactful work. In addition, Julio is also working with 4th year students at his Alma Mater.

Katy’s path to architecture was shaped by a love of hands-on creativity and a drive to design spaces that improve everyday life. Her affinity for design led her to earn her architecture degree from UT Austin and become a licensed architect in California.

With extensive experience working on a wide range of building types, Katy’s passion lies in sustainability, having shared this focus through teaching environmental building systems at Woodbury University and previously serving on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Green Building Council.

Katy is dedicated to creating public spaces that are both functional and uplifting for their communities. In her spare time, she enjoys solving jigsaw puzzles, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and two cats.

Larry Sillman was much more than just the founder and namesake of SILLMAN. He was the experienced and steady hand providing guidance and wisdom, a man whose unwavering belief in others fueled their success, and whose vibrant spirit and heartfelt smile had an infectious way of illuminating each moment, turning everyday interactions into treasured memories.

When we think of Larry, we recall not only his exceptional knowledge and architectural insight, but also his immense compassion, zest for life, and unwavering dedication to his community. The SILLMAN firm carries on his legacy, committed to creating purposeful architecture and making a positive impact on the community, all while embracing a joyful spirit.

As an integral member to the office staff, Liz helps keep SILLMAN running in tip top shape. With years of business experience she brings a welcomed amount of knowledge and warmth to the team. In her free time she's an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys early morning trail walks with her dogs, horseback riding and water sports. More than anything though, Liz loves spending time with her two teenage daughters.

Marc fell in love with architecture while taking an introductory drafting class his freshman year of high school. By his senior year, he was developing high school course curriculum for advanced architectural drafting and entering in local design competitions. So, it’s no surprise his passion and expertise lie in bettering the K-12 environment through intentional and sustainable design. With an extensive background in managing architectural projects of every type, his knowledge of DSA procedure makes Marc a valuable asset to any education project. When not providing mentorship to our team, Marc enjoys family time, golf, skiing, cooking, and giving back to the community through his many volunteer efforts.

With over 40 years in the architecture field, Mark has worked on a broad range of projects and enjoys the challenges and rewards that each one of them bring. He and his wife Janice have lived in Rancho Bernardo for 38 years where they’ve raised 3 kids who are now grown and out on their own. His other interests include golf, exercise, woodworking, painting, gardening and being very active in his synagogue. Mark always brings a positive attitude to the work environment, even on Monday mornings!

Nathan Houck has been practicing architecture since 2011, leading collaborative teams on educational, student housing, and award-winning civic projects. His work emphasizes clear communication and design solutions that balance functionality, constructability, and long-term value. A Registered Architect, Nathan also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Palomar College, supporting the next generation of designers. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, the beach, and exploring the local desert.

Nazanin joined SILLMAN in 2020 and brought her experience of studying and working abroad to the firm. Her goal is to always create durable and timeless spaces that goes hand in hand with her passion in sustainability. She has experience in renovation projects, interior design, and project types such as educational and civic. Among her many recognitions is graduating from Master of Architecture with honors for excellence in design. Besides her passion for sketching and painting, she enjoys being in the nature. Nick's passion for the built environment was sparked early on, growing up under the guidance of his father, a general contractor and trained architectural designer. After being raised on jobsites, Nick went on to formalize his education earning both a B.S. and Master of Architecture Degree from USC.

As a licensed architect and certified interior designer, Nick has developed a robust portfolio in hospitality, retail, restaurant, and religious campus design work. His attention to detail and collaborative approach ensures every project exceeds client goals with thoughtful design and constructable solutions.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys motorsports, having competed in desert off-road racing, and is a passionate F1 fan. He also loves ice hockey and, above all, feels blessed to live life with his wife, daughter and their labradoodle Darcy. Fight On!

Paul has been behind the scenes at SILLMAN, since 2001. When not keeping all things computer related operating, he can be found pushing his mouse around a Revit or AutoCAD screen. He is better known in the office as “Hey Paul”, with the many questions directed his way from various locations throughout the office.

With over 11 years of diverse architectural experience, Rana has led and contributed to projects across industrial, residential, commercial, and institutional sectors, guiding them from conceptual design to completion. As a registered architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) and licensed in California, Rana brings a comprehensive understanding of regional building codes and practices, allowing her to seamlessly manage cross-border projects.

Rana thrives on the challenge of balancing precise technical requirements with artistic expression, believing that every design tells a unique story. She focuses on high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet client needs, end-user expectations, and regulatory standards.

Originally from Boston, Roy’s interest in architecture began at a young age, building with Legos and imagining how the city’s old warehouses and factories could be converted into amazing living spaces for him and his family. That early fascination with design and how people experience space stayed with him and eventually led him to pursue architecture after a successful career in marketing. He is driven to help people and do the right thing. His multidisciplinary background gives him a unique lens that blends creativity, precision, and a strong sense of how good design can shape community and build relationships.

Outside of work, he proudly represents both coasts as a lifelong Boston sports fan who now calls San Diego home. Roy has many passions and hobbies, but you can usually find him outdoors enjoying the sunshine, traveling, enjoying great food and a well-made cocktail. He’s always looking to learn from new experiences and the people he meets along the way.

Originally from Iran, where her architectural journey began, Sepideh's inherent curiosity and relentless drive to push beyond her comfort zone fueled her passion for exploration and discovery in the field. She brings extensive knowledge and firsthand professional experience in designing large multi-family residential structures. As a Designer at SILLMAN, Sepideh has expanded her expertise in a diverse array of project types, providing unique international insights and innovative design techniques that have helped elevate our projects.

Originally from Minnesota, Steve has 26 years of experience in architectural project management with an extensive array of project types. For the past five years, he has focused on military projects, a passion resulting from his six years of service in the Navy prior to obtaining his Master of Architecture. He strives to be an invaluable resource of information and experience for everyone he works with. During his off time, you’ll find him RV camping, hiking, and enjoying time with friends and family.

Steve is the newest member of the Marketing Team at SILLMAN. He developed a love for writing while attending the Art Institute of California and his aptitude for painting a vivid picture with words led him into the marketing sector. He excels at reinforcing our firm’s strengths and at highlighting why SILLMAN loves what we do. When he’s not busy crafting new narratives you can find him out hiking with his dog or enjoying a fine cigar.

Before moving to San Diego, Valentina worked as an architect and interior designer in Rome. She loves children and cats…as long as they are hers!

Vidal is the “go-to” person. His knowledge of the firm, projects, and technical elements of architecture have made him a valuable resource for everyone. Plus, he’s a really nice guy!
